Got a funky one! Vista 64, stuttering audio/video caused by wireless setting....

Not sure if this could apply to Vista 32bit as well (I might just install it to test it out, but I am dual booting XP 32bit and Vista 64bit right now).

Anyways, had a thread a few days ago, about how the Dell drivers for my Dell wireless card would cause very long shutdown times. But MS does provide Broadcom drivers native now, and they seemed to work well, so I reverted back to those.

I also had another issue, when I would be watching Vxid's and Divx based videos (did not try any other type of encoded file though), I would get random stuttering video and audio. Would not happen much, but did cause a few of the well known "Nvidia driver needing to restart error" etc....

So last night, I download the latest episode of DL.TV (so not a Robert Heron fan, but eh something to fall asleep to, oh and Tekzilla kills it), and noticed constant audio stuttering. It was late so I booted back into XP32 and watched it.

This morning I started my tests. First thing I noticed, was that plugged it was fine. Unplugged it was no good, unless I set the power profile on to Max Performance. I also noticed that my download speeds on battery were HORRIBLE. Dove into the Power management settings, to solve at least the slow download speeds, and changed the wireless power savings to Low from Max. My speeds came back to normal. Started up the DL.TV video to tackle that issue, still had the audio stuttering. And just on a whim I changed the wireless settings again from Low saving to Max performance. And wouldn't you know, everything cleaned right up.

Anyways, I know this is long. I am needing to clean up the house before the wife gets home, and trying to put it off as long as possible ;)

My guess is that it's coincidental (the relationship between wireless and graphics).
To solve your problem though, try disabling powermizer:

If that doesn't solve the problem, look for a different video card driver.
