since you qualify for free windows 7 from dell, you could also wait until it's release date when dell will hopefully have a good method of going about upgrading as well as drivers for the new OS

Bios upgrades are provided by dell as an in-windows patcher, so all you have to do is download and install, the computer will reboot and continue its process on the BIOS.

Undervolting? i wouldn't do it unless i had serious heating problems...

isnt undervolting a very good reccomendation for SXPS 16 owners?
also about the BIOS, thank you - but is it reccomended to upgrade the bios?

This forum's search is your friend here, see what BIOS your computer came with, and see what is the most recent one from dell, then you can search for it and see if its worth updating...

ive tried undervolting, but i just hate having extra programs running on my startup, and i haven't seen good results. And since you got your zalman nc2000, your pretty much covered on the heat side ( undervolting is only done to reduce some of the CPU's heat output, thus decreasing the whole computer's temperature )

I just did a clean install of Vista as explained in other areas, and will await the arrival of my Win 7 free copy. Probably going to do a clean install of Win 7 so why bother installing it now and dual booting.
