Initially I e-mailed Dell tech support because of a suspected GPU over heat (80 doing mundane things, 95 ish whilst gaming)

I was asked to run diagnostics and to reply with my results. The heat/fan tests passed with full marks, but the overall test chucked up this:

Error Code: 0142 Hard Drive 1 Unsuccessful Status 78 MSG: Error Code 2000 0142

Dell have told me a tech will come and replace the motherboard and HD.

I'm not sure if I want this or not, as it'll be difficult for me to get a good time e.t.c

Is this definitely HD failure, and if so, is replacing it the only option?
