    Well in Vista my hdd was very quite. Now in XP it wont stop spinning. Its very annoying becouse its louder than fan. It keeps spinning and spinning. Very annoying. Its only 5400R/PM

    beyond the tasteless post title, i take it you're looking for a way to make your HDD quieter, and/or lowering HDD activity?

    Did you just install Vista? It's not a problem with Vista, it's indexing and sorting out SuperFetch so everything can search and run faster once it's done. It'll stop using the drive all the time after a few days.

    where are the options in XP ??? to turn off hdd and so ???

    Ahem, you are putting a title like that and then you argue that Switzerland is neutral...

    Completely useless effort to impress. I am definite that there are some rules here about topics that shouldnt be addressed in these forums. Your title definitely falls inside at least one category.
