for the past few weeks i heard tickling sound on my HDD (Samsung ATA Device) when browsing internet only. (no tickling sound when burning DVD or when my HDD is running lots of program)

this morning i just heard one loud sound (it's louder compared to tickling sound).....it's like the sound of cutting your big fat nail by nail-cutter.

viola no more tickling sound after that big loud soud!! :D

any idea what the fvck is happening?

Sounds like your hard drive might be dying, or you just get a flawed HD. Samsungs are typically dead silent with no ticking at all. Thats how mine is.

there was a big fat nail stuck and was bothering your hard drive, so it struggled for weeks until it finally got it.

    Good job!

although you might wanna keep an eye on that hard drive, it could be damaged, mine made no noise right out of the box.

If you are still under the return period, I'd recommend getting a replacement and swap the hard drives. If you are under warranty, I recommend you get a replacement hard drive. Samsung drives.. especially the 250GB 7200 which is the same one that came with my notebook, is literally dead silent, no noise whatsoever. There is some small ticking with the Seagate Momentus 7200.3 (320GB 7200RPM), but the samsung drives should be dead silent.

The HD (Fujitsu) on my M1530 made a constant ticking sound from the day i got it, i reported it to Dell support and had a replacement fitted within a few days. The new one is silent and i am so happy i had it changed, do the same if you are still under warranty mate.
