I hope you haven't bought it yet... but just for your information...

NewEgg sells only the BEKT, which is the model without a free-fall sensor. The model with the free fall sensor is BJKT.

Also though the Samsung seems to have higher benchmark performance, it is also slightly louder than the Western Digital and the fans kick on a bit more often. I personally had a 320GB 7200.3 Seagate Momentus and posted my benchmarks back when the drive was released, and had later on switched to the Western Digital and have found out that it is much quieter and fans also do not kick on as much.

The Seagate in your link does have a free fall sensor.

    Just FYI. :)

The WD is a monster. I had upgraded to it before I got my 1530 and actually took it out of my old computer and sold the HD that came with the 1530. The OEM Seagate M6 HD is absolute garbage. It clicks and cries like a spoilt child. I will never buy anything but WD from now on.

I’m thinking to upgrade my HDD to WD3200BJKT 320GB.

My Fujitsu MHY2250BH is slow and can become quite hot too :(
BTW, what is the advantage of free fall sensor compare to normal version?

I too is considering HDD upgrade from my dell Hitachi 200gb 7200rpm, after reading and watching vids about SSD over HD, I decided to wait till price comes down on the SSD. The difference is so great even for $1.50/mb i would get it, but right now a 250gb is around $500.

I like WD drives. I just ordered the 500gb 5400rpm. They're very quiet.

The freefall sensor drives park their heads if they sense a certain g value in preparation for a sudden shock. The drives can take a lot more abuse if the heads are parked versus if they are over the platters. It's good protection from accidental drops but not foolproof. For anyone else debating, the linked seagate drive does not have the freefall sensor, that model number is ST9320421AS G.
