Can anyone tell me if it's possible to get the HDMI (both video and audio) working running XP pro 64bit on the XPS 1530?

The volume on the laptop speaker might be louder than the TV, but you can mute the laptop speaker without muting the TV:
Volume control --> advanced button --> PC spk Mute

Do you mind posting the drivers you used for your XP installation? -
Why do people just refuse to use Vista? It works just as well as XP and is supported.

XP just runs better..

Most of the drivers I found on the Dell website, just look for another laptop that has XPx64 support, like the Dell Precision M4300. If the hardware component is the same it should work. Also applications usually work. (at least the ones I tried)
This is what I use:
For audio I use: http://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R171789.exe
Officially it only supports the m1330 and m1730, since they both have xp support while the m1530 does not. But is works fine on my m1530
For Video I used: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/xp64/
Choose the latest driver. You can check the compatibility with your videocard. Mine is in included: [DEV_0407] NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Download both the driver as well as the modded .inf. Extract and replace the original .inf with the modded .inf. It works fine on my m1530. Btw, this also works with the x86 driver in WinXPx86, which I tried succesfully before installing x64
Hope it works for you. If not, than the issue might be caused by your tv...? It works fine with my LG FullHD. -

I will let you know if it works. -
Hmm, I just installed XP pro x64 and everything seems to work as it should...
But I get pretty high max temps on my cpu cores and GPU core!
I installed the Intel chipset drivers (tried the ones supplied for DELL XPS 1330 and the ones directly from intels site). Anyone ?
