Hello everyone.
Need an opinion and hopefully from someone who has attempted and succeeded doing what I would like to accomplish. I own a loaded Dell XPS M1530 and recently just purchased a second-hand Dell 2007WFP (with analog and digital connections at the back). The LCD is really nice with an LG S-IPS panel (1680x1050 or something like that, it is 20" LCD). I plan on using it to edit photos and videos. What is the best way of connecting this to my laptop? The laptop has HDMI and VGA (no DVI). The LCD has DVI-D, VGA, S-VIDEO, Component. I read online about a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable, but it is mainly used to connect HD TVs with HDMI to laptop or desktop with DVI-D connection. My situation is reversed. Will I have any issues if I try it? I don't want to invest a lot of money only to end up using VGA. Anyone was successful at it? Laptop didn't come with any converters. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
