I bought a Intel 4965agn mini card off ebay, and just installed it. I first installed the drivers from Intel
Everything installed fine, but the device acted like it was not enabled. I then unistalled it, but the unistall locked up, went to shut down computer, locked up again, had to do a hard restart, then took forever to boot.
Reinstalled using the Dell Driver CD, same problem. Now I cant uninstall it and computer locks up when ever I try to shut down. Any suggestions? This card is apparently supposed to install without a hitch.

So you had the driver for it on the CD? Wouldn't it be the driver for the card that originally came with it?

It detected that I had the Intel card, so it had that driver listed to install. I think the Dell driver disk includes all drivers that could be included with their machines.

I tried taking it out and putting it back in, made no difference

I just tried installing the drivers in safe mode, but the Dell drivers wont let it install in safe mode.

I would try searching online for the driver, rather than using the Dell disk. One of the drivers on my Dell disk (the touchpad, in fact) cause repeated BSODs until I got rid of it.

I just installed a different drive that I found in another thread, same thing happens and when I go to Network Connections in the control panel, it takes 3 minutes to load and it shows the network controller, only its disabled. When I enable it, it does nothing.

It could be that the card is faulty...you don't happen to have any other computers handy to try it out on? :p
