i just get my xps, but, i found out that,
it got a hiss sound before i open any sound source.

    Example:
    1. Just enter window, a hiss sound before the startup music
    2. After no sound output for around 20 second, open anything with sound, a hiss sound appear and start the sound.

The hiss sound is very annoying, what is this actually? Help me.....

My belief is the aggressive power management features of the Dell provided IDT driver are to blame for this particular problem. It does work to uninstall the IDT driver and use Windows built in support for high-definition audio codecs, but when I tried that I was missing the microphone array/line input/recording sounds of Windows (loopback device).

For that reason I have been running with the IDT driver and all sound enhancements disabled + SRS plug-in disabled, without much noticeable issue. Not sure if it'll help your problems but there are much newer versions of the driver available in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...driver-softwae-updates-studio-xps-1645-a.html
