    HELP....!!

I'm trying to install XP on my Dell XPS M1530 laptop and I'm having serious problems. I've tried changing the SATA to ATA etc in the bios but I can't boot from the XP disk. Sometimes it wont even recognise that there's even a disk in the drive and other times it tries to load but then come up with a error saying it can't find a file. I hate Vista as its so slow and want XP back. I've read various forums but some people say that it has installed with no problem at all and some state you need to download various programs and make a boot disk. I NEED HELP, PLEASE.

Hi, tried the link and when downloading the nlite I get a program called xenocode which doesn't follow the same instuctions as in the link, not sure how to use this version.

well instead of downloading nlite you downloaded something else from an ad on the nlite site
just hit the download link instead of the graphical advertisement

alse a word of advice - preper a set of USB keyboard and mouse for the win XP setup
i'm not sure if it recognizes the touchpad but my Keyboard failed hlaf the way through the instalation and i had to use a USB keyboard to finish entering my product license key

also you should prepare all the drivers you're gonna need for after the install before you do it

here is a nice drivers pack thanks to UDI : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=254815

you can also grab drivers for your graphics card from laptopvideo2go dot com

aaand you can get touchpad/ pointing stick drivers ; fingerprint reader suite and other stuff from the dell website under the Inspirion 1525 drivers section :)

Hey Guys, I installed XP on my XPS 1530 without any issues but there is no audio and screen is not working fine when I scroll its very slow.

I tried all the links for downloading drivers but none work.

When try to install drivers from dell website, it says OS not compatible.

can I use -s on cmd to install, may be it will override the OS

    any help

Premsharan - the slow scrolling screen sounds to me like you do not have video drivers installed. I haven't received my 1530 yet - but I downloaded Nvidia drivers (and the hacked INF) from laptopvideo2go. Again, I haven't tried this yet since mine hasn't arrived, but usually you have to install the MS UAA audio patch (KB888111) first then the actual driver package. I hope this helps...
