I have been comparing my baby to a couple of my friends m1530s and i was under the assumption that the LED screen was thinner. When compared to a couple that were built in january 08, i noticed my screen is identical in terms of thickness to theirs even though I upgraded to the LED screen. Is there any way to tell what i have? What are the chances that I paid for the LED screen but was switched to the standard 1440x900 screen by accident? Thanks guys for your help!

I do not think they changed the design of the laptop for the LED. Its like a car with a v6 or 4cyl option. It the same car but either can be installed.....Compare the brightness, yours should be noticeably brighter.

    Hi,

I'm trying to decide between the 1440x900 LED LCD, or the 1920x1200 LCD. I'm leaning towards the 1440x900, however is the Webcam the same in both screens?

    Thanks,

    Jug

jug, the webcam is the same in both screens, and i have the 1920x1200 screen and it looks very nice, (but i had to make my windows bigger, 120dpi so i could see what i was doing, because 1920x1200 is a bit too much for a 15' ) so if you dont need all the resolution for, say, photoshop, then go with the LED one, its much lighter and battery efficient.

Thanks for the info. I will go with the 1440x900 then. Now I just have to wait for a Dell.ca sale.... :radar:
