Not quite sure how I feel about this yet. I just had my palmrest replaced this morning, due to pitting forming on the palmrest. I did not know that the palmrest also includes a new touchpad. Bonus! My touchpad has always been a little goofy.

Anyways, after the puts everything back together. I notice now I have a Dell "Product Red" logo on the left hand side of the palmrest. One problem. I don't have a "Product Red" anything. The Logo almost bothers me, I like the clean look of the brushed metal.

So I guess I am not quite sure what to do. First question I guess would be, can this logo come off with some Goof-Off or similar? Not even sure if I wan't to go through the hassle of having it replaced again, because of a stupid logo. But we will see.

Gently peel it off. Slowly, and it will come off.

Something tells me Dell is not going to change out another part because you don't like a sticker.

Oh, and Product Red is a program that you can buy into where part of the purchase is donated to African humanitarian funds I believe. Part of the PC purchase goes to it.

    Hmmm Africa.....

Anyways, thanks for the info. I will probably just leave it. At first it did not look like a sticker but painted on. If it is a sticker then I know Goof-Off will just eat it away (Goof-Off is pretty much just Xyelene with a part of lubrication I believe).

Again you rock Greg. I will add to your insane rep.

Yeah it is not a sticker, but nor is it etched. I could remove it no problem if I feel like it.

I just looked the laptop over again, and it looks like the tech left a little scratch on the back.... Well more then a little, about a inch long. Oh, and after I made the joke about "didn't leave any screws out", and he said nope. Of course, I found one that he forgot. No problem there, because I found the tiny black screw lol.

Most notebook stickers dont leave a mess when you take it off. I believe eucalyptus oil is effective if it does leave sticky stuff

I took out the stickers on my old notebook, it left a tan mark though due to its age

Yeah, it isn't that hard to pull it off. If you do it very slowly you won't have any sticky residue left on the laptop to clean with some other chemical.

I usually take about one to two minutes per sticker, never have anything left over. Of course, I'm pretty obsessive about that... :D

Leaving the stickers on a notebook is like leaving the tags on a brand new shirt. Why would you do that?!

Are you going to forget that it's an Intel processor? Was there ever a risk of installing ATI drivers for your Nvidia card? Do you really want everybody to know that there was an X before the L?

    ...

    Madness, madness I say. ;) :p
