I installed the Intel drivers for the 5300 the proset tools and every time it's done the my wifi says "no adapter found"....
I even tried the Dell drivers but the Dell drivers say "system not supported" even though it's a 1645 using the 5300 1645 driver package...
I'm at a complete loss here. I used this feature daily on the 1640 and so fare this 1645 is being a pain in the .

Well it seems I'm not the only one...
Intel my wifi technology: Adapter is...
Also a little Google search pulled a ton of info about people have this same issue.
I do find it retarded that Dell's 5300 drivers are for only 32bit even though they say they are for 64bit so you get the "wrong os version" when trying to install them. Oh well I guess we live with just having the new driver with out the proset tools and my wifi.
Oddly enough I did not have this issue with my Core 2 1640...
Intel and other people are saying it's a i5 and i7 with Win 7 issue, while others just are blaming Updates. Odd thing is when I installed these drivers and software I had yet to run windows update. Heck I even tried using Intel's older set with no dice.
I guess having the card work barebones with just drivers will have to do for now. -
I got it to work, but it was too much of a hassle

It works fine for me, never had any difficulty getting it to work. I have an aftermarket 6300 right now, but the stock 5300 worked too. Using latest drivers from Intel's website. Keep in mind that the feature only works on the 5300 and 6300, sure you don't have the 6200/6250 or 5100? Another thing is there's could be some kind of configuration or software problem, done any major tweaking or optimizations (ie disabling start up programs and services, using any optimization programs, or security programs). My WiFi I I recall correctly relies on features built into Windows to work, so that might be a place to start looking.

I got it work and then I upgraded to the latest Intel drivers and BANG it no longer worked. I rolled back the drivers (6200) and presto! it worked again.

Nah I have the 5300, or so my invoice and device manager tells me. I'm going to take the back off tonight and look at it with my own eyes to make sure all 3 antennas are hooked up.
I had no issues with my 1640, but issues with the 1645. I hate that Dell's own 5300 drivers will not work. So fare it's been a pain, the new drivers off intel site works excellent by them selves. But when I install the proset TOOLS with the My Wifi, it just says adapter not found, yet in the device manager it shows it there and not disabled and the internet works fine at all times. It's just the My Wifi software it's self not working. I might just buy an does the after market 6300 use 3 antennas? If so I'll just buy that card off ebay and install it myself! -
Brendanmurphy Your Worst Nightmare
What advantages does intel my Wifi have that the standard wifi client doesn't offer?

I guess I'm going to just get an OEM from Intel 6300 to fix the issue as you have since our laptop supports it with the 3 antennas like the 5300..

I see he is selling brand new ones. When you installed the 6300 you got the Proset tools from the Intel site and all worked fine right? -
Well I got my SSD today so I figured I'd do a clean install instead of using Dell's image... To my amazement My WiFi works flawless now, as does the drivers. I also had a few other things work much better after doing just a clean install.
I guess the lesson is, FORMAT after buying a Dell.
Has ANYONE gotten the MyWiFi to work?!
