    Hi all,

I'm wondering about this because MY GOD this laptop is one huge problem. I'm constantly getting the

"Video card driver did not respond but recovered"

Error and enabling SLI makes the problem even worst.

I've returned the laptop to Dell and they changed the MOBO and Vid cards (so it says in the work order) but the problem is still there. It's not as bad as it used to be but it still exists. frankly, I'm gonna call them and ask for another latop to see if that will solve the problem but who knows. I'm wondering if anyone here has managed to get this laptop running smoothly play Battlefield 2, call of duty and other intensive FPS games like Fallout3 or Bioshock, not to mention crysis, - AND , ifnot were you able to get Dell to give you a brand new one?. Hell with SLI enabled, it won't even run minsweeper lol.

    PLEASE HELP!!!???? :(

    Thanks

Return it. Get a new one or have them fix yours or get your money back. That is not acceptable.

That's what I want to do for sure... I'm wondering if anyone has succeeded in doing so when going through Dell.

If it's under warranty then YES, I have. And you should too. XPS service has been quite excellent in my experience. Keep us posted.

Yes, call dell. You get the same service as if you bought it new. If you are polite and honest, they will take care of you in my experience.

Try uninstalling the video driver and reinstalling.
Use the link in my sig, go to the end of the post, it explains how to correctly update video drivers.
I would take the 178.24 drivers first, they`re very stable, and would also try the 180.70...from laptopvideo2go.
    It`s all there.

Yes driver stopped responding has happened to me once or twice. Sounds to me like not properly installed GPU drivers. But my M1730 plays all games smoothly, no SLI issues at all. What OS do you run with? XP, Vista? XP is really great for this notebook, both me and eleron can guarantee on that.
