Hi guys,
I've recently just upgraded the crappy LG screen on this laptop to one of the AU optronics ones, and it looks great! It got me thinking, for games like Skyrim - Im not sure if its worth actually playing it on this setup I have here with the Geforce GT 445M...
I was just wondering if anyone had successfully managed to upgrade their graphics card on a L701?
If so, how difficult was the process, which card did you buy, and would you recommend it?

Your graphics card is onboard, so you can't just change the gpu alone.
There are 2 motherboards available for this model, one with NVIDIA 1GB GT 435M discrete graphics and the other with 3GB GT 445M discrete graphics. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Yes as the above posted stated, the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard. The only way to upgrade it is to purchase the higher end GPU motherboard which is not cost effective.
Have you considered selling your XPS 17 and actually purchasing a gaming laptop? You can find used ASUS G73 series laptops cheaper than used XPS that are still in warranty..
Has anyone upgraded the graphics card in an L701x? Is it possible?
