So I've read numerous reports and reviews on how well the XPS M1530 distrubtes heat and remains moderately warm and cool. So is the build good and true about the heat distrubution? Obviously I'm a little concerned and worried about my incoming order and don't want to worry the heat from my GPU and etc will fry the motherboard!

I don't think the heat issues are as bad or widespread.....
And in any case, if the laptop *does* have some issues, you will notice it / feel it right away, as soon as you start using your laptop.. and in such cases, Dell replaces the system if its withing the 21 day period.. or if its just some components like the GPU and such, you could ask for a GPU / mobo replacement. I have seen some people / members around here too who have had replacements due to heat issues.. but the number was not many...
But still, for me, I haven't had any heat issues at all... all important component temperatures are in the normal range, with the max temp' within acceptable / normal limits...
So I wouldn't worry much unless you have the system in hand, and as soon as you get it, do a basic check of everythingright from manufacturing quality to temperatures etc....
Cheers... And dont be too worried.. you will most probably end up with a nice system
Good Luck.

I agree with fonduekid, dont let the numerous complaints or "worry threads" on here affect you. i read through the forums for weeks and still went through my purchase.
Was i worired? yes, i was.
Am i still? Nope! youd be surprised when you get your laptop its really not as bad as people make you think. and just like fonduekid said, you have the 21 day period when you receive the laptop, and you also have warranty to help onsite. its a great laptop. -
check your bios if A09 when booting up. that will solve heat issues and the GPU problem of NVIDIA.
also, try undervolting your cpu. i have undervolt my XPS T7250 (meron-2m proc) to 1.0875 max and enable SuperLFM of 0.9v.... search the forum for undervolting.
the default max volt for merom-2m is 1.750v which is quite high. i don't know for T8xxx or T9xxx penryn proc but search the undervolt topic for proper procedures and softwares. -
Just trying to not have any misunderstanding going around, particularly for newbie'sThanks.
The A09 'enhances' the thermal control by just turning on the fan earlier than before, at 65 C approximately, for the GPU for example, turns off / gets back to min rpm at 55 C. This *is not* a solution to the GPU problemJust a temporary 'fix' kind of thing... Anyways
Having said that, updating to the A09 is always recommended, IMHO
Cheers.

isnt the latest bios for m1530 A012? or was that for 1330?
-
the A012 is for m1330. A09 is for M1530.
in regards to fonduekid's reply to my post, itz a temporary fix then. but that is the most easiest fix you can have for your spanking new M1530. but let me ask you fonduekid, is there a fix for the GPU problem we have on our XPS laptops? -
this is a lovely laptop
Cheers.
