Dear laides and sires,
About 9 months ago I had big heat issues with my M1330. At first I got a new cooler, the second time I got a new motherboard. Then the heating issues stopped (it still got pretty warm, but it stayed below 75 celcius).
Four weeks ago, the motherboard died, just of no obvious reason. I got a new motherboard again.
It worked fine the 30 minutes I tried if after that the technician had left me. Later I plugged in an extra montitor, just a small 19" @ 1280x1024.
The result you can see here.
Nota bene: the screen dump is taken with nothing but Thunderbird, one Chrome window, Task manager and Everest running, the latter is a program I use to check temperature.
The M1330's specs are listed in my signature.
My question is: what can I do to cool down the GPU? I've disabled Aero, don't know if that helps.
Many thanks.

You could do a lot of *downclocking* in Rivatuner, and get the temps lower probably, but that would destroy any gaming capabilities. (It would weaken the card some).
Do you have a Cooler? Or, if your comfy with dismantling your lappy....you could open it up, and take a look at the heatsink/GPU and re attach/thermal paste it, to make sure there's a good seal/connection between the two. That could be a progressive problem.
Ohh.... get i8kfangui .....and max out the laptops fans!!! That will help.
Here is the link: i8ffangui
Most important right now..is to get in contact with Dell...those temps are extremely high..They need to take this seriously.

102 !? Something must be wrong with the GPU. I once had a HP laptop and when I sent in for heatsink replacement, they accidentally messed up the GPU casing which caused the GPU temp at startup reaching 90+. After that I send it back and they said they made a mistake.

Did you contact Dell? Did you attempt anything to help with those *horridly high temps*?

If that temp is correct, then you need to turn off your laptop and get it fixed immediately or you are going to do some serious damage.
Heating issues - again?
