hey guys,
i let a friend borrow my m1530 to watch movies one day. when he returned it to me...the remote was stuck in its slot. i'm guessin he tried to squeeze it in the slot, upside down.
i was wonderin if there was a way to take the laptop apart to get to the remote compartment without damaging anything. i kinda miss havin the remote when i'm listenin to music from far away. if anyone has taken apart their m1530 or know how to, could u please let me know. thanks in advance![]()

I'm assuming this is the remote that goes in the ExpressCard slot?

Else you can go up a level for removal/replacements of other parts...

hey housestoned,
well that can be troublesome....
i suggest you read dell's guide on how to get to the motherboard, you have to remove the entire back panel for this, because the remote slot is part of the motherboard, once you get the back panel open, you need to be careful not to twist the port's metal, because then your remote wont fit even if its on the right side... and i would test inserting it once you took it out, just in case something else caused this.. -
thanks for the quick replies guys.
additional info: yes it's the little expresscard remote that comes with the system. the remote is just stuck in there. i've tried pryin it out with a small screw driver but it wouldn't budge. this led me to believe that my buddy put the remote in upside down and it didn't stay, so he just jammed it in.
i'll try to read up some more and get back to u guys. thanks again for the help.
