    This information would be helpful-
    Adapter type: 90w or 130w?
    BIOS revision: A08, A09, A10, ect?
Graphics card driver: Are you using the Dell one, the ATI one, or other?

If you're looking for a "quick fix" you can try uninstalling SoundBlaster software. I'm not saying this is your problem, but this is by far the most common thing that causes Blue Screens on the XPS 16.

They are up to BIOS A11. It's a long story but I'd recommend installing A09 for the 4670 card. http://ftp.us.dell.com/bios/R269189.exe

Then get the free 130w adapter. Studio XPS 1645 Power Supply Upgrade

You should also install the latest ATI mobility driver from either Dell's download site or from game.amd.com

Wow A01. Glad ( I think) to see there are people still rocking that, lol. However, I'm sure the majority of people that don't frequent sites like NBR still use A01, so I'm guessing it's probably not that uncommon. Firstly, you need some updating, as gpig stated, of the BIOS (to A09), ATI drivers (to 10.8), and power adapter (to 130w from insufficient 90w). Your SXPS 1645 will thank you and feel rejuvenated.

Whenever you update any computer to any BIOS version there's like a 1 in 100000 chance that you will brick your system. Unless your feeling extremely unlucky today, you really should update.

I believe in the case of the XPS 16 it technically wouldn't be "bricked" since there is a recovery program for the rare cases where this happens (I think).

If it makes you feel any better I updated to BIOS A09 on three occasions (I tried out A10 and A11, and A09 was the best, so I went back to it).

Clean out your laptop. Unscrew the bottom cover and shoot compressed air into the fan assembly to clean it out, also clean out all the air vents, etc. I have a feeling your overheating - especially since it's obvious you've had it a while since your running A1. Also update your BIOS and drivers.

Yes, the A09 BIOS was designed specifically for the 130W adapter. If it tries to run something demanding, but runs out of juice, it will throttle. It might even be causing the bluescreen, but I'm not as sure on that point. The 130W is free, get it, see if it fixes your problem.
