Short version: Studio XPS with Core i7 for $1798. How much better can I do on price?

    Long version:
I want to buy a Dell Studio XPS 16. I've all but decided on the model as the right combination of power, features/components, and size and want to push ahead with the order once Dell starts shipping systems with Windows 7 installed.

That said, I want to get the best deal but I've been out of the computer market for over 3 years. I'm hopinng some expert eyes can look over my configuration below (with upgrades in bold) and help me sort out what I may be able to trim out or negotiate down and still be somewhat futureproof for the next couple of years.

    Processor: Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (or whatever the equivalent Windows 7 version will be)
Office Software: Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 + Adobe Acrobat 9 (+$129)
Warranty: 2yr Ltd Hardware, InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis
    Display: RGBLED screen (+$175)
    Memory: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    HDD: 500GB 7200RPM
    Optical Drive: Slot-Load Blu-ray Disc (DVD/CD read/write, BD read)
Sound: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB (+$25)
Bluetooth: DW 370 (USB module) (+$20)

The options below come locked in with the Core i7 system (at least on the website):
    Video card: ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 4670 – 1GB
Wireless: Intel 5300 WLAN Wireless-N (3x3) Mini Card
    Battery: 84WHr 9-cell

It comes up to $2107 or $1798 with a generic $309 discount available until November 19. Has anyone been able to get the same configuration (or similar) for less? I have an EPP discount (7%) but I can't seem to find the Core i7 series on the EPP site. Same for the most recent 25% off coupon code which only works for E-Value code: 6VAFF-DYDAFS1.

I would also like to get an extra 9-cell battery but I can't find an option to add it anywhere (on the non-Core systems, it runs for $100).

Lastly, I could still be talked out of the Dell altogether but I would want something that combines all the components above and I haven't found anything yet. Thoughts?

I ordered a similar config but at the time (9/26) there was a $449 discount. I have an EPP discount through school and I logged in through delluniversity.com then I clicked the link to go to the regular Dell site and I configured my i7 there. Also, when you config a non-i7 system with a 9-cell battery for $100, you're not getting an extra one you're replacing the standard for an extra $100. If you buy a 9-cell extra it's $200 or $250.
