    Hey guys,

New here! I saw an old post on this board by a user named " Electrosoft" about modding a XPS 17 for improved airflow. As i can't private message yet, this post is my open question to you: Any experiences modding the XPS physically to improve the airflow?

Cooling pads don't make any difference for me temp wise, i've been hitting 93 celcius under load for the past few years. Tried repasting with arctic silver last december, dropped the temps for a few weeks before settling back at the old 93 celcius.

Now, i wouldnt mind grabbing a dremel and physically modding my xps. Any adivce on improving the airflow, or more mods that could drop my temps?

Alternatively, i'd also be open for suggestions regarding eGpu solutions, but i still imagine that to be a mess of cables and other frankenstein-esque stuff dangling from my old XPS.

TLDR: My laptop temperature is worrying me. Willing to do physical mods if needed!

    specs: i7 2760QM , GT555m 3D, 1080p screen, 16gb ram, 3 Hard disks (1 ssd, 2 5400rpms)

    Thanks in advance!

    Jasper

SOLVED: For those interested. Used a dremel to cut more cooling holes in the bottom and removed the sidebars at the exhaust. 15 celcius temp drop. :D
