So the technician is coming and I need to reverse the copper mod (I have a M1330). I'm not very good at this, so I need your help:

    1) Basically, I just need to follow the same instructions for the copper mod, but this time using the foam square, right? Is there something else I should take into account?

    2) Silly question: How do I make sure the foam square stays put? Do I add arctic silver to it, or something else? / Is it easy to remove the copper square?

    Thanks

That's weird that you did a copper mod but you don't know how to remove it?

I don't own a m1330, so I never did the copper mod. But I'm assuming that the copper mod is held by TIM, so it shouldn't be too hard to remove.

Then when you reapply the thermal pad I believe the pad has an adhesive backing.

Well, some of us that got faulty M1330 are hardware-challenged lol. I just wanted to know if there were additional instructions for reversing the mod.

I noticed there's a tiny little of adhesive on the foam square, so I guess that will do it. Thanks! :)

    Just do it all backwards.

You really don't need to, though; a technician came to work on my laptop while my copper mod was still in place. They really don't care. The techs aren't Dell employees, they're third party contractors. They get paid either way. :p

You know what, I'm going to follow your advice. I'm going to leave the copper thing there. They're coming in a couple hours, and I'm not in the mood to reverse and redo the mod. TOO many troubles already with the M1330. If they want to void the warranty, so be it! That's my signal to buy something else and forget about Dell lol /sorry for the mini rant :p

Yeah, they won't really care, you shouldn't have anything to worry about!
