Step 1. Determine that you absolutely must use Windows XP.

Step 2. Look into Windows 7's 'XP Mode'.

Step 3. Realize that you bought/have the wrong computer, because Quad-Core doesn't really work right in Windows XP.

Step 4. Enjoy: Drivers & Downloads

While I fully support people using whatever operating system they so desire and while there are probably a few legacy programs that might have compatibility issues with Windows 7, unless these issues affect you, I am not sure why you would want to use XP anymore.

In terms of finding drivers, I can only suggest using either google or just the search function on this forum.

The only reason to use XP is if you have some kind of seriously broken legacy program that you need for your job. If you need it for work, you should have bought a business line laptop, like a Latitude, which have more support for legacy systems.

You can try these video drivers: tweakforce.com Forums-viewtopic-XG Mobile Cats 8.7 XP 32bit but you'll have to mod the .ini file to add support for your GPU. For the others, good luck. Most of the hardware in the XPS16 was made way after Vista came out, and like I mentioned non-business means no legacy support, so finding something is going to take work and/or modding.

    Thanks for replies!

Yes, I have problems with keyboard and soundcard Line 6. I bought it after i have bought my laptop.
Now when i try to play a music or plan on a guitar (or on keyboard) sound in Windows 7 turn off. I wrote in Support Center Line 6 but they don't know. :-( So I dicided to install Windows XP and will try to use keyboard on XP system.

Thank to all of you! BIG'n'HUGE!

    there are other reasons.

i have a lot of trouble getting usb 1.1 devices working on windows 7 with the motherboard chipset in the 1645

it is a well known issue.
