    Hi

Please would someone give me some advice on the following:

    1. Anyone know of some discount vouchers for UK Dell website purchases, or will the American ones work?

    2. A number of UK sellers on Ebay sell Laptops with Dell Direct Warranties. Are there any pitfalls to buying from these people on Ebay - such as if a brand new sealed laptop arrives and it is actually defective, will I get sorted through Dell just as easily as if I brought it direct from them? Is it just a matter of transferring the warranty into my name or what?

    Many thanks

Christ these forums move quickly...normally I wouldn't bump until after 24 hrs, but by then this will be on page 20.

    1. The U.S coupons won't work on the UK site. You would have to wait for a deal on the Dell site, it seems the other countries get shafted on discounts.

    2. It depends on the eBay seller. Some will handle DOAs and returns within X days. Then they just have to transfer the warranty to you or they may have a system setup by Dell to just assign the warranty to you.

Thanks for the reply...so basically buying from an ebay seller with a good rating offering 3yrs dell warranty isn't a problem (discount over Dell site is about 30% on the model I am looking at).

Yeah if they have a good rating and a lot of sales then you should be fine. A lot of companies sell on eBay now that it has become less of a auction site.

Thanks mate...whenever I discuss Ebay sellers with my Dell account manager, he always makes out that the warranty is worthless if you don't buy direct from Dell...hence why I don't buy direct from Dell anymore...cuz he is a fibber :)

Yeah of course they want to sell directly to you. Sometimes sellers use a 3rd party warranty company, so make sure you look at the details in your auction. I think this is mostly for used and refurbs computer from what I have seen in the past.
