Basically I have the GeForce 8600gt in my m1530, I need to update my drivers.

I go to the nvidia website and click, geforce - gefroce 8 series - windows vista 32bit - enlgish (uk).

    I download the programme -

I run the installer and when it installs the wizard and begins the instaltion it says,

"the nvidia setup programme could not locate and drivers that are compatible with my current hardware, setup will now exit" ?

Why, that is my video card details??

    Please help

Why dont u take the latest available from Dell drivers n downloads section? they have 175.97 there..

Anyway, you could try the drivers from laptopvideo2go as well.. they are the same if you dont use the modded inf file.

aand the driver you download must be compatible with your video card (which is a mobile video card, btw, hence the M after 8600).. so you have to check that first.. and this is probably why you need to get the drivers form laptopvideo2go since the modded inf will accommodate the mobile cards as well.. but check first..

You can't use those drivers to from nVidia to install on your laptop. You have to go to the dell website and use that driver or go to laptopvideo2go.com and download the driver and custom inf file there to install the latest drivers.

And also remember that the modded inf's will invalidate the WHQL signing, and you would need WHQL for bluray playback... so hope you make the right choice!
