Hi all. My kids have wrecked my screen (xps m1530). It was REALLY beautiful, 1440 x 990 LG philips one, am really annoyed. Thanks to your posts on this forum, I found the dell p/n XP059 and know my screen is the LPLDF00 one. Called Dell parts today and the guy said that he would need the EXACT number which can only be found on the actual screen itself; this is the only way he could guarantee it would be the LGphilips one. He didnt seem to think the LPL number would ensure that. Does anyone know what number he is talking about - a bit reluctant to open up the screen casing etc (I'm still using the half that is working!) until its time to fix it. Is there any way to get this number without opening up??
Would really appreciate any help with this! Thanks

You would think they would be able to use that info from your tag and the would suffice....you may get input from some others here that are more experienced at solving that issue ...without having to tear it apart so I would wait a bit first....sigh as it starts snowing!!!!! cheers!!!!

Ok does anyone know what is the difference between XP 059 and KR 515 for the dell p/ns? Are they still essentially the same screen? Cheers for any help!

Anyone? I called an ebay seller today and she told me the same thing: the P/N xp059 nor the LPLdf00 number arent enough to confirm its the same LG. She said I need to get the number from the back of the screen (but then if I open up, I cant use the internet again to order!) Going in circle and would appreciate some help or advice!! Cheers

Shouldn't take more then 20 mins for the whole ordeal, use this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3205346.
One of the forum members gave a really easy way to quickly and efficiently remove the screen without having to take apart the entire laptop. You shouldn't even have to remove the screen, just take out some screws and look behind it.
Hope this helps. -
Ok thanks will give it a go; was kinda hoping the number would be "out there" but I guess it'll have to be the hard way! Fingers crossed
