    The pics are too small for me to completely make out, but it looks like the factory recovery/tools partition. My roomates 1720 has the same thing.

    Nice laptop, btw. :)

    The extra (3rd) partition is for the diagnostic tools. Just go into disk management and remove the drive letter designation, it will be helpful should you call Dell for servicing.
