Hello this will be my first labtop and this is what i created at the dell website if anyone can give my tips or guide me in the right direction it would really be appreciatted.I currently work at the NWS in south florida and need a good labtop thats runs good and is powerful .I use alot of JAVA loops viewing radar loops and monitering tropical cyclones. Please let me know if these specs i picked are good for me as i only have one shot at this.I also surf the web alot.

PS! I also want a nice viewing screen so i went with the LED as ive heard alot of good things about it. Thanks so much.

Display : Get aleast 1440x900 LED Screen

System Color : Personal Preference ( But I like Red , Blue and Black )

OS : Vista Home Premium is enough for 99% of the people :D
    (I belong to remaining 1% :p )

    Memory : Stick with 3GB :D

and Don't buy Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition , its just a software on top of sigmatel codec and AFAIK its buggy :(

Go for Intel 365AGN Card , remaining stuffs are fine :D

Thats a pretty nice system, mines about the same,

the only thing I'd change is possilby get a longer warranty,

    and I'd get a 7200rpm drive,
I've the 400gb 5200rpm and being honest I regret I didn't go with a faster one, you do notice a bit of lag when loading programs.

The 9 cell will be nice for longer battery life however it will make the laptop heavier. If you do a lot of traveling it may not be as portable as an m1330. You may also be able to score a better deal unless your job is paying for it :)
