    Hello everyone!

When taking off the hinge cover on my Dell XPS M1210 I found out that besides Power and Media Direct switches there is a third hidden switch labeled SW_CAP.

My question is: Does it serve any purpose?

PS. I started taking my lappie apart due to overheating... sometimes the fan would not turn on...any suggestion? Replace the fan?

No. This is implemented on certain systems. Its associated with webcam capture on the m1210. If you don't have a webcam built in to the LCD, then you wont have the button.

    See your owner's manual.

Oh, great to know! Thank you bunches!

Kind of cool how they thought of the button and had it build in even before the web cam was built in. he he. Taking apart various Dell laptops fascinates me more and more )))

    Thank you again.
