Bought My XPS M1530 a week ago.
I've heard about it's high temps and all ranging between 70-80.

So I bought a laptop cooler yesterday since my temperature was most of the time 85-89 for the gpu, 82-88 for the cpu, and 94 for the Acpi.

But the laptop cooler isnt doing anything..temperatures are still the same.
Should I be woried? or Should I just get a new cooler.
The cooler I got is prostation.
I'm using HWmonitor to check out the temps.

try core temp or motherboard monitor, etc., to verify the temps as those do seem HIGH!!

    Tried core temp.
CPU temps are the same with 1-3 Celsius difference.

    I've just realised something too.
While WoW is minimized, the temps drop by 10-20 degrees. When get it back on, temps gradually start increasing to the 80's.

I didn't mention this in the first post :p those high temps occur only while playing WoW.

At the moment, WoW is on and temps for Cpu's are 85 and 84
Gpu temp atm is 86 Room temp is around 23-25 and the cooling pad is on.
turned off the cooling pad for around 30 mins and the temps are still the same.
I'm pretty sure the cooling pad is of no use here...

    Are your figures celcius?

I never paid attention to the temps on my old Inspiron. But you've made me aware and I just d'loaded HMonitor.
    GPU 61.

    Are these "normal"?

Sorry, I'm clueless about all of this. But would like to learn.

    Here are my temps... celcius.

    Mainboard 54

    HDD 38

Something is amiss with your cooling. Make sure the fan is working correctly, and is maxing out during gaming. The heat transfer compound may have also been botched from factory.

My GPU is heavily overclocked, and still does not exceed 77 deg after hours of gaming. I have cleaned the heatsink assembly of stock compound and used arctic silver 5.

My notebook is only a few weeks old. So before I call tech support, can you tell me how I can find out if the fan is working correctly? Is it possible it's not working at all? I honestly don't hear it on my XPS and it was very audible on my Inspiron.
