    Hi everyone,

I know this has been disscussed before but because prices change so frequently around this time of year, I'm wondering where I can get the cheapest ram for an m1530. I'm looking for 4gb. I have 2gb now but I'm assuming they are 2 one GB sticks so they will be useless. Also, I bought my m1530 when they first came out and they were said to support only up to 4gb of ram. Since then I know m1530s have been marketed as supporting more than that. Could mine do the same as well? Thanks for your help.

Your M1530 supports up to 8GB but 99% chance you won't utilize more than 4GB. I don't think prices on average will go down too much for memory but you should be able to find a good deal on a 4GB kit at any bit store (depending on what country you're in).

Does the brand matter or should I just look up the specs on supported RAM and buy two 2gb sticks from newegg, tigerdirect, or anyone that sells some inexpensive brand?

That would be perfectly fine. It will clock itself down to 667mhz. This would be cheaper option though.

Not, in common and everyday work.

You should just take care of memory type and try to find the cheapest RAM around. Kingston Value RAM would do.

I have 8gb on mines with the A12 BIOS. As long as the RAM meets the requirement it's going to be fine. I got the most affordable one (cheapest). I looked at Newegg and compared it to Amazon. Amazon had the same RAM on sale plus it had free super saver shipping.
