1330m, A15 with horizontal lines (see pic). Warranty expired. I did a search but mostly found problems with vertical lines. Any quick diagnosis and fix? I'm pretty handy with fixing this machine, so hoping it's something not too complex. Thanks.

If you have Nvidia graphics, it might be early signs of GPU failure... do these lines show up on an external display?

My experience with LCDs is that the screen is divided into vertical bands, and when they go bad, the badness is often limited to one of the bands. E.g., I had a monitor that displayed everything in a pink tint with regularly spaced white lines in a veritical band on the far right of the screen. The width of the lines in the pic you posted seems about the correct width for it be a bad section in the display..

If I had to guess, I'd say your display is bad. If you get a good image on an external monitor, it means the video circuity is probably OK, and the display is at fault.

You might try opening the case and reseating the ribbon cable(s) that go to the display panel. If that doesn't work, you probably need a new display panel.

Thanks. this is not Nvidia, and no problems with external displays. I'll try reseating and that doesnt work replace the display. Doesnt seem too complex or pricey.

edit: LED screens are pricier than I thought.
