    Hi,

Is there any way the DVD drive noise can be reduced? When I put in some DVD/Cds it is so loud I can't even here the sound coming out of the computer. And the all laptop vibrate , I am almost afraid it will damage the drive altogether. The thiing is, it does not do it for all dvd/ cds. but when it does, it is pratically useless using them. And when I am in a public place it is outright embarassing!

What PC do you have? Is it a slot loading laptop drive? The one fitted to the M1330 Is fairly noisy...especially when loading and ejecting but it does quiet down when playing. I assume you have tried various types of disc (including originals)? The drive should not be so noisy you cannot hear your music / film so I would suggest getting it replace under warranty...if you still have one.

I have a M1530 with a slot drive. The noise is when it is reading the drive. It does it more for burned discs, but it has happenned at times with originals.
