    Hello folks,

    I've searched through the forum for answers to two annoying problems I'm experiencing with my new Dell, but I couldn't find anything. Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules or overlooking a special thread for newbie questions by starting this topic. If I am.... my apologies.

    Anyways.

    I have a Dell XPS 15 (L502X)
    Windows 7 Service Pack 1

    I purchased it with the built in TV Tuner, and it came with the mini antannae and another 4 inch cord (that I don't know what is for). I read the TV Tuner section of the manual and it simply says open Windows Media Center and it would walk me through the Tuner set up.

    My problem is Windows Media Center isn't very helpful and I have NO idea what I'm doing. WMC couldn't connect to my DirecTV and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this problem.

    Do I have to physically connect my Dell to the TV or Satellite receiver?
    Which cable do I need to accomplish this?
    Is there a thread or an external link someone could provide that walks me through this process?

    I'm very lost and any information anyone could give me would be a huge help. I want to be able to use my laptop as a DVR and record things.

    ============

    My second problem is much simpler (I think). I have this very annoying blue line that comes out of my mouse cursor. I assume its some kind of mouse gesture program that I can change in the settings but I don't know where to do it.

    Here's a screencap to see what I'm talking about.

    Thanks in advance for any help I might get here.

    As far as the TV Tuner goes, I do not believe it will work with satellite. I do not have one in my XPS, but I believe it's an Over The Air Digital Tuner, and maybe cable clear QAM, but it will not handle Satellite connections.

    The TV Tuner absolutely will work with satellite, I do it regularly to record shows. Also the little 4" wire that was included is an adapter to attach a set top box or a different over the air antenna. The other antenna that is included clips to the top of your laptop screen and is a decent HD over the air antenna. If you just open your windows media center and click on the Live TV option it will walk you through the setup. Super Super easy walk through, just make sure you have a source connected because it will scan channels.
