    How cheap will the dell S16 XPS get in about 1years time???

    Aloha im planning on buying a S16 XPS in about 9months - 1year (or like a few weeks before dell would be discontinuing it from their website). :eek:

    Since ive got an inspiron 6400 at the moment, and while it does get hot and the back panel cant be opened to clean the dust off fan,
    and the graphics card is CRAP and cant play any games like call of duty 4....,
    its still a nice laptop and works fine in all other ways and for everything else.

    So i cant afford to spend £800 buying an S16 XPS, when theres nothing 'wrong' with my current one and it works fine. :( :(



    But i was wondering if anyone knows when the s16 will be getting discontiinued??
    (Do dell like have some kinda email newsletter that alerts you a few weeks in advance to stuff like that?)


    And how cheap does everyone think it will get down to in its last 1month??
    (Lets assume that itl be on sale till next summer)


    Cos i was really hoping to keep this one on till next summer or even autumn if they still selling the 16XPS,
    and then nab one in its last few weeks of sale for around £450... :eek: :rolleyes:


    That sound realistic and likely though??

    not very much, the xps m1530 stayed about the same price untill it got discountinued. i think it was $899 or $999. 100 dollars less than the studio xps 16.

    Thats about £600 / £650, so that sounds like a ncie price.
    especially with the extra 5% discount i can get from the vouchers. :eek:


    when does everyone think it will be discontinued though??

    I doubt it will be discontinued any time soon (a.k.a. within the next year). I mean it has the most recent hardware available with a Radeon 4670 and will soon have a Core i7 mobile CPU. The SXPS 13 is more likely to be discontinued than the SXPS 16.
