So I've borrowed HP DV7 17.3 monster with CPU 7350 and ATI 4650

and it's almost the same than my CPU 8600 and ATI 4670

HP 3d Mark Score is 6253!!! everything is fresh installed on both machines.

    any comments?

The HD 4670 and HD 4650 are the same in pretty much all aspects except clock speeds.

because the 4670 is the 4650 just overclocked a bit. At least that is what I have come to understand. the HPs 3d Mark score was 6253, what was yours?

I've sent my XPS 1640 back to replace it for 1645 ($1650)

I will be really upset if 3dMark 06 would be LESS than this HP dv7 which cost only $899!

As of the ones in question they are the same in every aspect excluding the clocks. It would be different if it was Acer's HD4650, because it has DDR2 memory :)

@OP - Could you please post 3D Mark '06 screen-shots, I want to subtract the CPU score in order to see the real difference. GPU-Z shot from both would be nice too :)

I feel with you. I actually made the same experience.
If you overclock the 4650 it will actually be much better than our 4670.

Why?! HD4670 can be overclocked too, though via vBIOS modding, but it can. From 7100 at stock clocks (675e/800m), I got 8000 at 800e/930m (both @1280x800). I don't want to push it more, but I think that it's even more capable.

Well, lets just say that Dell locked the Bios of our 4670. So it can not be overclocked at all..
