Just configuring my SXPS 16 here on the Ireland site so I know how much it will cost.

I'm on the LCD screen and my options are as follows:

I just don't understand how they're giving the option of 15.6" and 16" depending on if it's RGBLED or not. Is the physical screen actually a different size or is this just a slip up since the sizes are so close?

    Thanks! :)

    Okay thanks!

Now, does that mean the whole lid is 0.4" bigger, or does the screen just cover 0.4" more of the underside of the lid?

that one. The physical dimensions of the laptop don't change based on "screen size". Both LCD panels fit in the lid.

    Awesome thanks a lot!

Still unsure about the RGBLED. I mean my normal laptop looks pretty fine, how could it be worth €240 more RGBLED!?

I have the RGB, my wife has WLED. The colors are much more rich and vibrant on the RGBLED. The color spectrum is phenomenal. Had I not seen them side by side, I would have never been the wiser.

I love the RGBLED on my 1640, Movies and photos are real crisp and clear. I especially like it when doing drafting and design work

How do you like (or dislike) the glossy screen? I've heard the Studio XPS RGBLED screen is one of the nicest you can get on a notebook, but I really can't stand all the reflections from a glossy screen. I'm worried that my dissatisfaction with the reflectivity would cancel out whatever I might like about the color quality.

Also since it's a wider gamut screen than most, do you notice the colors seem unnatural or exaggerated when you're browsing the web or doing any other non color-managed stuff?

The glossy screens can be an issue if you are in direct sunlight but I think that is issue with any screen. Also bright lights above would cause bad reflections. I find that for 98% of the time the screen is perfect. The colors are not unnatural in fact I find them very natural and vibrant.

I'm not at all worried about the glossy screen as I prefer them for the color.

Also, I can always just apply a matte cover if I wish. :)

i really dont recommend rgb led. it is a great screen but it sure aint bang for the buck. 15.6 1080 is a really nice screen and with that extra money, i would get a small size external monitor...

to some people rgbled colors can be quite misleading, not to mention that it is a hummer for your battery
