    Alright I'm completely new to the overclocking scene, getting BF3 this week thought I'd give it a shot. Can someone explain in noob terms the basics of it and temperature, software recommended etc? I have a XPS 15 L502X;
    - Intel Core i5 2520m
    - 4GB ram
    - GeForce 525m 1GB

    Kinda figured out the basics, overclocked to 745/1490/1080. About to run 3dmark11 test, should I only overclock when playing bf3? If I exit out of msi afterburner, does it automatically go back to stock clock? Are there any guidelines that memory clock should not be higher than shader/core or vice versa?

    You can overclock whenever you feel you need a boost. I think it goes back to stock after you exit but i always change back to stock anyway but im 90% sure it only overclocks when the program is running. Theres no set guidelines as to what the clocks should be but there is a thread for the 525 on this forum. All i would say is increase the clocks slowly and watch and monitor the temps!

    Heres the 525 overclock thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/601505-overclocking-gt-525m-card.html

    Are you just talking about GPU? If you want to overclock your CPU, you will need to know your PLL and see if SetFSB supports it.

    There's no SetFSB support for any SB processors.
