    How do turn on the backlit keyboard on the L501x?

    I just got the XPS L501x with the 1080p screen and 6GB RAM. This thing is beautiful. But how do i enable the backlit keyboard? fn+right doesnt work and I cant find it in the settings? any ideas?

    Should be the F6 button, it looks like a rectangle with dots around it in a half circle. You can also do it through the Windows Mobility Center by hitting the little gears on the touch strip.

    Theres no other icon over the f6 key.

    Then that means you don"t have the Backlit Keyboard on your L501x

    It's a $25 add-on. I wanted it but it said it was going to delay my order by two weeks and I decided when I ordered a week ago that I didn't want to wait that long.

    If you've had it for a short time call tech support playing stupid asking why you your "backlit keyboard" doesn't work and see if you can get it for the $25 upgrade cost rather than the higher single part price.

    Would it be something difficult to install? I've dealt with alot of desktops, but never took apart a notebook.
