    How durable is the soft-touch palm rest?

    Has Dell used this material before? Will it start to wear off after a few years?

    I'm assuming you are talking about the L521X since you have started other threads about this device.

    I'm assuming it would last a long time, as it feels substantially similar to my e6220, and I have not heard any complaints about the Latitude's palmrest wearing out.

    This is kind of a good question, because soft touch plastic can be hit or miss. On phones it's usually great. On my Cyborg RAT-7 it feels bulletproof. But I had a Logitech gaming mouse where the soft touch plastic started peeling off within weeks. Worst mouse I ever had.

    dell says it's silicone, not sure if that makes a difference though

    Isnt that what they use on the alienware laptops? the soft touch stuff, if so it must be good quality as i havent heard anyone moan about it.
