    I'd leave the proc and get a higher resolution screen... the difference between the t8300 and 8100 is .1 GHz and no L2 cache difference... you won't notice the extra dollars at work.

    Looks like the same deal I went for, except mine was the T9300 so it was a bit more.
    But yeah, that looks like the best price you can get for right now. I think its actually better than the 25% off coupons when considering the 3 year warranty (valued at $299 by dell lol)

    this is what I just ordered:
    [IMG]
    better processor and 7200 rpm disk (and a spare AC adaptor)
    still looks like your deal is better though.. though I did get a discount on the printer and router

    Can you explain how you got this deal? I am a member of EPP and have the 5% stackable coupon. I'm not sure how you were able to get that configuration for that low of a price. Did you just go into the EPP page and configure it that way and add the 5%? Or was it a special link? Thanks so much.

    I went through Dell University to get that kind of deal. Not sure how to do it through a company though.

    companies have their ID number, where they log onto www.dell.com/epp

    @valuepc... on the first page of ur config, copy the url, remove this whole phrase-> '&linknumber=xxxxxxx' [its ur school's ID number], and post it here.... will work for all EPP customers

    t8100 = 2.1 Ghz
    t8300 = 2.4 Ghz

    = .3 Ghz or 300 Mhz difference or 14.29%

    Honestly I really don't think that the .3 Ghz difference would make any impact at all on every day processing and gaming. So I chose the 8100 to save some cash.

    To put it in simple terms ... a T8300 is just an overclocked T8100 from my understanding.
