How long before XPS 15" 2 in 1 might see a discount?

So I've been waiting for the Dell XPS 15" 2 in 1 since I heard of its announcement. And now that it's finally here the least expensive config I want is a lot more than I'd hoped (ideally 4k display with 16GB ram and cheapest other options possible; I'll upgrade SSD myself). So I was wondering based on people here's perspective/experience how long you think after a new model release there might be discounts? I have access to a perksatwork account and student pricing but the perksatwork drops it like $45 off a $2300 config and that's just an almost insultingly low discount there.

I know it'll be a guess, if this thing flies off the shelves for ages they won't discount it as much as soon and etc. But based on past experience with new model releases any guesses?

There already has passed a 15% one.
I'd say every other month there is a blanket 10% - 15% discount coupon code released.

Also, even though it goes against American nature, you can haggle with dell over chat or the phone. Depending on your skill, and the person on the other end's attitude, you can get as much as 18% off.

So there are a blanket discounts that even apply to brand new release models? That's definitely good to watch for. Where is the best place to keep an eye out for them? Thanks for the feedback.

Yes. Dell are really good at offering their customers great deals on even new high end models. I am just waiting in the wings for the 32gb ram model to be available and a good discount, and I am getting one. same goes with the xps 13 2 in 1 for my wife. She's fine with 16gb of ram, but I need 32gb for my design work.

I think your best option for a discount would be the Outlet. The more something sells, the more it gets returned, particularly something with a large price tag. Once it's been returned, they can't sell it as new. Buying in the manufacturer outlet is pretty much the same as buying new, but with a nice discount.

If you can wade through the super aggressive adds (Add-block is a must) RetailMeNot.com and other coupon websites usually have the ones not posted on Dell's website

Dell twitter and Facebook have promotions, as well as Frank Azor's Twitter (Dell VP and Manager of XPS + Alienware)

Otherwise, Dell has coupon code lists on their own website. There are 4 tabs:

Not 100%; make sure to read the print under the listings. They do sell "Scratch and Dent" on the same pages as "Certified Refurbished"

Right, but I've purchased ~40 scratch and dent and cert refurbished systems and I've only had one scratched system. YMMV but I've had good luck.

Thanks for the heads-up Atma. If anyone sees a 15% coupon I would be VERY appreciative if you'd update here. Been looking but haven't found one and slogging through the retailmenot's of the web makes my soul cry.
