Here's the background story. I bought the Dell XPS 15 a few week ago and when it arrived, it looked perfect. Sound was good, the B+RG LED LCD was gorgeous, and the laptop was fast. Played with it for an hour then a burning smell came out of the vent. I shut off the computer and never turned it back on.
Dell recommended a system exchange, which I decided to do after Dell offered to do a motherboard swap. As of now I am waiting for a response from Dell to see where I am at with my laptop. So the questions are:
How long did it take you to get the system exchange?
Did Dell offer any "free" upgrades for compensation for loss time?
Did Dell ask you to return the laptop first, then you received your new one? Or the opposite?
Did Dell guarantee you a time but did/didn't make it?
Finally, was your system exchange successful?
Thanks.

How long did it take you to get the system exchange? About 10 days
Did Dell offer any "free" upgrades for compensation for loss time? No, the CS Rep. was very mean.
Did Dell ask you to return the laptop first, then you received your new one? Or the opposite? The opposite; you can keep the notebook until you receive the replacement.
Did Dell guarantee you a time but did/didn't make it? Sort of; they told me that the 3-day delay was for extra testing.
Finally, was your system exchange successful? Nope, the new system had a washed-out B+RG screen. The original notebook had faulty hinges -
So what's going on now with your laptop? Did you returned it?
And thanks for the reply. -
Yes, I returned it for a refund. Also, due to my bad experience with the XPS 15, I have decided to never buy another Dell notebook.
