I ordered my XPS 17 (L702x) on 4/11. Granted it hasn't been long, but I have seen other way longer than me trying to get there system. As stated before, that doesn't leave a lot of hope for those of us trying to get there system sooner rather than later.

The delays are pretty bad IMHO:

    Video Card:
    555M 3GB graphics
    11 business days

    Hard Drive:
    1.28TB (2 x 640GB 7200 RPM HDD) or even 1x 640 GB
    21 business days

So my question is this - how long is long enough and say forget this?

Dell almost ALWAYS over compensates for delays. You'll have the computer 2.5 weeks, tops.

Wait for the computer you want. Its worth it.

Or....you could wait for that white iPhone...lololol

It's a week to my EDD, my laptop is still in pre-production and Dell haven't got in touch about any delays to my date... yet.

Waiting on the 555M and a 640GB HDD I guess.

I'm confused. Do you mean November 4th or April 11th? I don't see what the problem is..? What day does Dell estimate that it's coming?

I remember a couple of years ago I ordered a Studio 17 with a few extra bells-whistles etc...and I waited almost a month...kept checking the site ...."in production". I finally rang them up and they said they were unable to fulfill the order??? Talk about how to keep an %^#$$ in suspense...Sooooo I re ordered the XPS 16 and it came pretty quick. This is my fourth rig so I may be a sucker for punishment....
all the others came well short of the initial EDD...you may want to call and see what's up...cheers!!!

    4/11/11

Also, it say 5/10/11, but I take that with a grain of salt since I have been many times delayed and the dates pushed back.

Have Dell actually been in touch with you, even if just by e-mail, to tell you the laptop has been delayed?

There's only a week before my EDD and I haven't heard a word from them. My concern is that in the few days before my EDD I'll get an e-mail saying that it's being delayed.
