I'd say it can handle new games at high settings for about a year, before you'd have to lower the settings/resolution.

There's an Ebay seller who has one w/ 9800M GT SLI w/ decent price (I think it was 1300 and change).

I bought my M1330 locally from him, and he's located in NJ.

it will last you until it no longer does what you need it to do.

even though it might be outdated...if you play older games and watch movies and type documents, it will last a long time.

if you like to keep up with the joneses for technology, well then..you should look at a newer laptop since this is old tech already.

for me...it should last a long time as i only really play source games/wow/dota, watch bluray, etc.

This will play all coming games for the next 3 years but of course you will have to decrease your settings over time to play games.

His price is usually GREAT compared to others.

I paid 1800 for my M1330 when it was 2.7k (yeah, it was that expensive back then lol).

Item location is GA... hmnn I met him in NJ to pick up around 1.5 years ago. Not sure if it means anything.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to link ebay here though, let me know if I have to move it mods!

I'm looking at the same specs, but in red. I heard red gets 4 FPS more in Oblivion. ;)

As far as longevity is conceren The M1730 is a more solid system compared to the M17, I have an AW M9750, over priced when new, older tech but way more reliable, But so far It's starting to show it's problems, such as overheating video cards etc. The M1730 with 9800GT SLI beats the M17 with 3870's xfire in gaming. The overall of the M17 would beat the M1730, due to newer tech and Quad Core Xtreme support! For around 2K, you'll have both machines neck to neck, but if ur a gamer! The M1730 would be the one due to the Nvidia cards! Other than that, internet etc, you can't tell no difference! It's your call !!!

It's my AW M9750, it's GPU's are failing, or maybe it's just old tech. Heats up to 80-89 degrees and shuts down games. Replace the battery once, Bios won't read over 3GB memory, even with 64bit Vista. If your going to use it for internet and just basic word, etc. it's a fine machine. Design is nice and lighter than the M1730 XPS. So far I can't complain about it too much as I already have it for over 1 year and 1/2. Which is why I replaced it with the New M1730 XPS Baby
