if you want to keep the recovery, why not just use that it to reinstall windows?

Correct me please if I'm wrong but using the recovery option would not give him a "Clean" install of Windows 7. Right?

You could just reformat the partion with all your other data on it and leave the recovery partition alone. Then reinstall the OS on the the fleshly reformatted partition, load the drivers and your off.

If you would like detailed steps I'm sure there are plenty online. Try googling Refomat Windows 7. I usually always go with a fresh install when ordering a new system.

However if you have the OS Recovery disk and the Dell Drivers disk you do not need the restore partition. I usually wipe everything clean. ust my preference.

I've decided to wipe the whole disk clean. Laptop arrives in two days.
