    I have posted a blog article here about how to flash the BIOS of your XPS M1730 to A11 when the battery is dead (running the BIOS update program with a /forceit switch doesn't work).

    The short version of the story is that I patched the BIOS update to remove the check that the battery charge is at least 10%. You can read all the details in the blog article.
