I've had my Studio XPS 16 [500GB HDD, Core i7, 4GB RAM, 1GB graphics] for a few months and it's undoubtedly an awesome machine that can handle anything I throw at it.

However, up until now I've pretty much just had it around the house and almost always leave it plugged in [which I've heard isn't the best for the battery!].

However, I'm going to start bringing it to college and although I have the 9-cell battery, I just wanted to see if there were any other tips people could give for extending the battery life. I can get over 2 hours at the moment with minimum brightness and the tweaked "Power Saver" plan.

Any other suggestions? Even if they're advanced methods. Thanks! :)
