    How to identify the manufacturer of HDD?

    I have a xps 1330 laptop with a pre-installed vista .

    How do I know the manufacturer of the HDD I have.

    Device Manager > Disk Drives, then search for the model name in google. For example mine says ST9120822AS, which is a Seagate Momentus 5400 120GB.

    Another option is to remove your hard drive and check.

    go to device manager then to disk drives it should tell your there. if not click on the hard drive it displays and properties window opens. click details then use drop down window to fine hardware ids(second one down). should give you all the info.
